Remembering the poor... We should be eager to do it!
Today on the Daily Nugget, Mike, I focus on Galatians 2:10, where Paul recounts the apostles' request that he "remember the poor," something he was eager to do. This brief statement reminds us that caring for those in need is not a side issue in the Christian life but a natural expression of the gospel. While we are saved by grace through faith and not by good works, the grace that saves us also moves us to love and serve others. Gospel ministry is about proclaiming Christ, but it is never indifferent to human need. As we grow in our love for God, we should also grow in compassion for people, especially the poor, reflecting the generous heart of the Savior we proclaim.
